Peculier Luminous- Green Bugs
There were three of these shiny green bugs on a Manioc plant near my house this afternoon, a copulating couple and another probable male playing the bad guy trying to push the lover off the female bug's body. I don't recall ever seeing these critters before. They were on an impossible spot for a still, so I opted for a video. It's a pity that my camera is not the kind of toy to video them hovering. They do buzz around like bees, that's quite a site. I need some one's help to identify these too.

Grasshopper
Insects are the most varied critters of the world, and Sri Lanka is no different. Grasshoppers are my favorite insects next to butterflies and dragonflies, mostly due to the bright colors they boast. This is one of the many types of grasshoppers I see in my own garden.

Small But Beautiful
This is a Common cerulean Butterfly(Jamides celeno) perched on a bean plant in my garden. These are very common around here, but very hard for me to capture on a lens as they don't perchon a spot for long enough and my camera is not capable of capturing them while they flutter around.

A Bug Eat's A Bug!
I really don't have to walk around much these days to create material for this blog. There is a lot of interesting activities that involve interesting critters right in my garden. What you see here is a Yellow Waxtail Dragonfly (Ceriagrion coromandelianum) eating another smaller insect.

A Small Cupid Butterfly(Chilades parrhasius) From My Garden
I videoed this beautiful little butterfly at my garden a few days ago. Luckily it flapped its wings a little while perching on a leaf of a long bean plant, but I wasn't lucky enough to capture it hovering.

Ravenous Caterpillar
I found this caterpillar on a Bael plant in my garden. At the rate this fellow works on the leaves, it's fair to call them 'pests' isn't it? I'll try to observe it's development and share it with you, hpefully.
